Perkins had a torn ligimant in his right wrist repaired in mid-July and was originally expected to return around Oct. 10, but that's no longer the case, according to NewsOK.
The former Celtics big man would rather ease back onto the court and be completely healthy for OKC's opening night matchup on Nov. 1 against the Spurs.
Perkins started each of the Thunder's 20 postseason games last season, averaging 4.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in 25.9 minutes per game. Perkins also started 65 regular season games, averaging 5.1 points per game.
Additionally, Perkins had surgery earlier in the offseason to repair a groin injury.
