America’s Cup Catamaran Capsizes in San Francisco Bay (Video)

In September of next year, the America's Cup, one of sailing's more prestigious races, will be held in the San Francisco Bay between defending champion BMW Oracle Racing and the Royal Swedish Yacht Club.

It's a very serious race, so it shouldn't come as much surprise that teams spend years preparing. Likewise, if the below vidoes are any indication, the teams push themselves — and their boats — as hard as they can in practice.

On Tuesday, the Oracle team managed to capsize its 72-foot AC72, just the eighth time the boat has been in the water, according to The Associated Press.

"We didn't know what was going to happen with the new boat. When the
nose went down, the wing hit and a few guys went in the water," said team tactician Tom Slingsby. "We were unsure if the wing would snap, so we all climbed off the
boat."
