Belgian Soccer Player Jonathan Legear Drives Car Into Building for Second Time (Video)

Someone, please, take away Jonathan Legear‘s keys and don’t ever let him drive again.

In 2009, the Belgian international soccer player drove his BMW X5 through a meadow before hitting a house in Londerzeel, Belgium, receiving 50 hours of community service. Well, Legear is at it again, this time plowing his Porsche into a gas station convenience store in Tongeren — Legear currently plays for Russian club Terek Grozny.

Although the video shows a lot of damage, luckily only one customer was mildly injured, according to the Associated Press. The 25-year-old midfielder now faces charges of involuntary assault and intoxication, and has already offered to repay the approximately 300,000 Euros in damage he caused.

Legear’s excuse? Not surprisingly, he had been drinking. But don’t worry, he was only a little drunk.

“Contrary to the judgment already made by some media,” Legear said in a statement reported by Yahoo! “I was not in a
state of deep intoxication and my blood alcohol level was only slightly
above the legal limit.”

Thanks for clearing that one up.
