Joe Andruzzi made a name for himself by defending his teammates from opposing players. Since retiring in 2006, Andruzzi has taken to defending another group of people from a far more imposing opponent.
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) will host its fifth annual New England Celebrities Tackle Cancer Gala at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 3 to celebrate the foundation’s efforts to raise money for cancer patients and their families. The gala will take over Gillette’s Putnam Club and will include a special symposium, cocktail hour, dinner and speaking program in addition to live and silent auctions.
The gala, which raised over $325,000 last year, will be emceed by former Patriot and current Patriots radio color analyst Scott Zolak while the silent auction will be run by radio personality Billy Costa. Zolak headlines a contingent of Patriots both past and present who will be in attendance to support their former teammate.
“This
has been a monumental year for the Foundation; we’re blessed to help more
cancer patients and provide more support for research at Boston Children’s
Hospital than ever before,” said Andruzzi. “But helping more people
requires additional support from our community, and we plan to make this year’s
gala our best yet. We’re honored to once again invite our friends and supporters
to join us for this fun and heart-warming benefit in hopes of raising
significant funds to help families with their bills during treatment. Jen [Andruzzi]and I
know the cancer battle all too well, and every little bit truly helps.”
The event begins at 5 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Individual
tickets to the fifth annual gala are available exclusively at JAFGala.org. Information regarding a limited number of remaining sponsorship packages
is available online, or by contacting the Foundation directly at 774-284-4694.
