The New York Jets' troubles on the field are causing complications for Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez — and not just because he could lose some playing time or his starting job if his team continues to play poorly.
Sanchez reportedly broke up last week with actress Eva Longoria after dating for several months, but it wasn't the general wear and tear of a celebrity relationship that did them in.
Longoria is said to have ditched Sanchez because the Jets' losses had made him so grumpy that he was hard to be around, according to TMZ.
"It's hard to maintain a relationship when one person is upset all the time," TMZ quotes a source as saying, noting that Sanchez was perpetually in "a crappy mood over the New York Jets' horrible season."
Now, Sanchez is no Cam Newton, but he has been known to get pretty frustrated during games, if not distraught after them.
But apparently he's taking the team's 3-4 record — and his 53.2 percent completion percentage, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions through seven games — home with him.
Well, New York fans, it could be worse: The key piece to your football team could be flirting with fans in the stands as your team loses.

Brandon Crawford finds Detroit a wee bit chilly.
"It's good to just revert back to your childhood. This is the moment that you waited for. Don't let it pass you by and miss it."
