The NFL will put the finishing touches on a month-long effort to raise awareness for breast cancer this weekend, and it will be done with one more tribute.

On-field officials in Sunday's game between the Jets and Dolphins will use pink penalty flags instead of the traditional yellow, according to league PR representative Brian McCarthy via Twitter.

According to McCarthy, the idea for using pink penalty flags came from an 11-year-old who wrote commissioner Roger Goodell to pass along the idea.

Players, coaches and officials have been taking part in the month-long initiative throughout October, wearing pink shoes, gloves and other apparel to raise awareness.
