Tom Brady Plays Nice in Response to Richard Sherman, May Not Be So Respectful on Field

We have a response from Tom Brady.

While Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman took to Twitter to taunt Brady on Sunday night, the Patriots' quarterback only responded to the incident when asked about it.

Brady spoke with Jim Gray on Dial Global Sports and had a response straight out of the Bill Belichick quote factory.

"He's a very good player and I have a lot of respect for that defense
and certainly that secondary. They play very well together," Brady told Gray. "My dad
taught me at a young age to play with class and respect and give my
opponents respect, and certainly I have a lot of respect for the
Seahawks."

Brady may mince his words in public, but he's developed a hated reputation among NFL players, and it may not be completely based on jealousy of his historic career. Brady might talk just as much trash as the Chad Johnsons and Deion Sanders' of the league.

Of course, you'd never know it based on how Brady reveres his opponents to the press. Brady was basically telling Gray that his dad once told him, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

"My dad also told me to worry about the things that I can control
and certainly not worry about the things that I can't. And I really
don’t have feelings either way toward what someone may say or think," said Brady.
"Really, what's important is how I feel. We went out and we played a very
good team on the road and had an opportunity to win there in the fourth
quarter and just didn't take advantage of it."

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

Sherman told the press after Sunday's Seahawks win that the Patriots run a "gimmick" offense. He also said that the Patriots aren't built for a heavyweight fight. Brady didn't refute the comment and said that won't be determined for another few months.

"I don’t think anything's decided here in the sixth week of the year,
or how capable you are of winning big games. That’s to be determined in
January and it’s only October, so we're just going to keep trying to
get better."

If Brady and Sherman meet again on the field, the future hall-of-famer probably won't use such kind words.
