Vote: With the Latest Development in Labor Negotiations, Will the NHL Season Begin on Nov. 2?

Though the end of the lockout is still far from official, hockey fans now have some hope.

According to a press release from the NHL, commissioner Gary Bettman and the NHL owners have made an offer to the Players' Association that would guarantee a 50-50 split in terms of hockey-related revenue.

With this latest development hockey fans now have a glimmer of hope that the season is not lost — in fact it is reported that it could begin as early as Nov. 2.

Though it is easy to get excited about the latest developments in labor negotiations, this deal is far from done. The collective bargaining agreement is now in the hands of the NHLPA and it is now time for them to do their due diligence in deciding whether or not the proposed deal is in the best interests of the players.

It appears that no matter what both sides have taken a step in the right direction, but will the 2012 NHL season begin on Nov. 2?
