Bill Cosby Thanks Cy Young Winner R.A. Dickey for Making Knuckleball ‘Respectable and Acceptable’

Nearly two months ago, comedian Bill Cosby graced Fenway Park by throwing a ceremonial first pitch. When Cosby unleashed the pitch, he channeled his inner Tim Wakefield and tossed a knuckleball.

It’s a pitch that he dabbled back with in his youth. That’s why Cosby felt a sense of pride when Mets knuckleballer R.A. Dickey was named the National League Cy Young Award winner on Thursday.

Cosby took the time to write Dickey a heartfelt message, congratulating him for the award via Twitter.

In 34 starts this season, Dickey compiled a 20-6 record with a 2.73 ERA and 230 strikeouts. His storybook season has become an inspiration to many, including the iconic Cosby.
