BYU Football Players Involved in Late-Night Brawl, Get Kicked Off Team and Withdraw From School (Video)

Many high-profile college athletes seem to think they are invincible, getting away with breaking laws and NCAA rules without consequence. Two members of BYU’s football team found out that isn’t the case in their neck of the woods and they’re even facing legal action.

Players Joe Sampson and Zac Stout were part of a fight that broke out at a local Provo Mexican restaurant just after 3 a.m. on Halloween night. The fight allegedly escalated after a girl got punched in the face.

The two players were kicked off the team by coach Bronco Mendenhall and subsequently withdrew from the school. They are both facing misdemeanor assault charges. The two players, both linebackers, each made one tackle apiece in limited action this season.
