Report: Les Miles Offered Five-Year Contract by Arkansas

After losing Bobby Petrino due to some off-the-field issues prior to the 2012 season, the Arkansas Razorbacks stayed under the radar this season, signing John L. Smith to a one-year deal. They went 4-8 for their efforts, but it seems they’re going all-in for 2013 and beyond.

Arkansas has offered Les Miles a five-year, $27.5 million contract to move from LSU over to the Razorbacks, according to Sports By Brooks. The Tigers went 10-2 this season, losing to Florida and Alabama.

Miles has been with LSU since 2005. He has a 85-20 record in his eight seasons with the Tigers. Miles coached at Oklahoma State prior to his tenure at LSU. He was 28-21 with the Cowboys, taking them to three bowl games in a row. Miles won the national championship with LSU in 2007, and lost to Alabama in the title game last season.
