Vote: Did Rajon Rondo Deserve to Be Suspended Two Games for His Altercation With Kris Humphries?

On Wednesday, the Nets’ Kris Humphries put a hard foul on Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo went relatively ballistic.

As soon as Garnett went down to the floor, Rondo went after Humphries, engaging the power forward that spilled into the stands as Gerald Wallace and other teammates got involved. Rondo, Humphries and Wallace were all ejected, but most suspected that wouldn’t be the end of it.

On Thursday evening, word broke that Rondo would be suspended by the NBA for two games for instigating the melee, leaving the Celtics without their point guard for a little while. This, of course begs the question, is the suspension fair?

On the one hand Rondo clearly instigated the fighting portion of the skirmish, shoving Humphries which incited the other players.

On the other hand, it was Humphries’ foul that put Garnett on the ground in the first place, and it can be argued that all Rondo was doing was protecting his teammate. The NBA certainly doesn’t have much tolerance for fighting, but this was a relatively minor incident.

So, what do you think of Rondo’s suspension?
