Barack Obama Answers Newtown Football Coaches’ Thank You Note With Message of His Own (Photo)

When President Barack Obama visited Newtown, Conn., on Sunday, some people wondered what he could do in the midst of such loss.

Obama said Sunday night that he wanted to comfort the community. He appears to have done just that.

Two coaches with Newtown’s football team, Steve George and Bobby Pattison, left a note on a whiteboard thanking Obama for coming to the town.

“Dear President Obama, the Newtown community is so thankful that you are coming to help us heal,” George and Pattison wrote. “In times of adversity it is reassuring to know that we have a strong leader to help us recover.”

While Obama had already done the deed, he did one better before leaving town — he left a handwritten message of his own for the football coaches.

“You’re in our thoughts and prayers,” Obama wrote on the same whiteboard, ending the message with his trademark presidential signature.
