Report: Braylon Edwards Re-Signs With Jets One Week After Calling Front Office ‘Idiots’

The Jets are truly a one-of-a-kind organization. Can you imagine a former Patriots player calling Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft “idiots” and then re-signing with the team a week later? Of course not. But that’s exactly the kind of thing the Jets do.

The Jets claimed Braylon Edwards off waivers from the Seahawks and were granted his rights, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Edwards was cut by Seattle just one day after lashing out against the Jets’ organization on Twitter, saying that idiots are calling the shots in New York.

Edwards apologized a day later, but you’d think the damage would be done, right? Well, the Jets are desperate, especially after rookie deep-threat Stephen Hill got injured in the Jets’ Week 14 matchup against the Jaguars. Shockingly, New York is still very much in the playoff race, as they currently sit at 6-7 behind the Colts, Steelers and Bengals in the wild-card hunt.

As part of Edwards’ outburst against the Jets’ front office, he did support his former quarterback Mark Sanchez. So that’s one more vote of confidence for The Sanchize.
