Baltimore Responds to New England With Billboard Highlighting Ray Lewis’ Retirement (Photo)

Karma has made its way through New England this afternoon and the Ravens’ faithful are having some fun with it.

Baltimore fans were riled up all week after seeing New England fans had funded a billboard counting down Ray Lewis‘ retirement party. But after the Ravens defeated New England in the AFC Championship 28-13 on Sunday night, Baltimore fans decided to post their own billboard regarding Ray Lewis’ retirement party Monday morning.

The billboard reads: “Ray’s retirement party moved to Feb. 3 (New England Not Invited).” Feb. 3 is of course the date of Super Bowl XLVII and officially Lewis’ last game.

Lewis commented on the billboard following the Ravens-Patriots game.

I was hurt when I saw a sign that actually said my retirement would [start] tonight,” Lewis said, according to The Boston Globe.

The ping-pong billboard fight — back and forth all week — between New England and Baltimore fans should be over for now after the Patriots suffered their first ever AFC Championship Game loss at home. This only heats up arguments going into off-season and certainly intensifies the rivalry heading into the 2013 season.
