Report: Chip Kelly Staying at Oregon Rather Than Moving on to NFL

Despite all the interviews and interest from NFL teams, it appears that Chip Kelly can’t be swayed to leave his cushy gig at the University of Oregon.

The Ducks’ head coach is sticking around, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Kelly interviewed with the Browns on Friday and spent nine hours with the Eagles on Saturday, according to multiple reports.

Kelly has spent four years with Oregon and has mounted a 46-7 record. After leading the Ducks to a 35-17 victory over Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl, he was expected to leave for the NFL.

Perhaps having Phil Knight — the co-founder and chairman of Nike — in Oregon’s corner is helping Kelly’s decision to stay in Eugene, Ore. If Kelly stays, he’ll likely get a raise, as Bill O’Brien did at Penn State.
