Andrew Bynum Could Be Close to Making 76ers Debut After Receiving Knee Injections

The 76ers’ newly acquired big man Andrew Bynum hasn’t taken a step onto the hardwood yet during the 2012-13 season. But it appears he is headed in a positive direction.

Doctors injected lubrication into both of the center’s knees, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 2012 NBA All-Star, who tore his MCL against the Grizzlies in 2009 and tore his meniscus in 2010, is close to making his 2012-13 debut right around the All-Star break — as it was projected earlier this year.

During the 25-year-old’s NBA career, Bynum has averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. However, he has only played a total of 392 games in seven years.
