Chris Neil Is the NHL’s Active Leader in Penalty Minutes

Ottawa Senators winger Chris Neil recorded two shots on goal against the Bruins on Thursday night, but perhaps what is more surprising is the fact that he was able to stay out of the penalty box.

After all, Neil is the NHL’s active leader in penalty minutes with 1,929 to his name over the course of an 11-year NHL career.

The 6-foot-1, 285-pound enforcer’s 68 PIMs so far puts his fourth in the NHL this year, but his longevity and toughness puts him 59th all-time in total time spent in the sin bin.
