Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Leaves Game on Stretcher, Taken to Emergency Room After Colliding With Teammate

A collision between Charlotte Bobcats guard Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and teammate Jason Taylor ended in a scary way for the rookie.

Kidd-Gilchrist was fitted with a neck brace and taken off the floor on a stretcher Saturday night, according to SI.com. He was then transported to a local hospital’s emergency room for examination.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter, as the second overall pick in last year’s draft attempted to block Toney Douglas’ layup attempt. Taylor, who was going up for the rebound, made contact to the back of Kidd-Gilchrist’s head with his hip.

Kidd-Gilchrist remained on the ground for several minutes before being taken to Memorial-Hermann Hospital in Houston, but Bobcats broadcasters noted that he did show signs of movement.
