Brad Marchand Replaces Milan Lucic As Bruins Shake Up All Four Lines
Boston’s top goal scorer, Brad Marchand, replaced Milan Lucic on the Bruins’ first line at Sunday’s morning practice at TD Garden, according to Boston.com. Lucic got bumped down to the third line, while Daniel Paille will join the second line.
The first line is now Marchand, David Krejci and Nathan Horton. The second line is Paille, Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin. Lucic, Rich Peverley and Jordan Caron make up the third line while Jay Pandolfo, Gregory Campbell and Shawn Thornton are the new fourth line.
The Bruins scored just six goals in their last six games — something that head coach Claude Julien took notice of.
“Because I can,” Julien said when asked why he made the switch. “Because I’m the coach. And every once in a while you have to do those things. It’s as simple as that.”
The Bruins will face Toronto again at TD Garden on Monday with their newly-assembled lines. The Bruins have won two of three against the Leafs this season, though Toronto took down Boston 3-2 on Saturday.
