The Mississippi State product says he can cover the NFL’s best wide receiver, Calvin Johnson. Banks was considered a first-round prospect until he ran a 4.61 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine.
“I think I can play against anybody. I can own anybody,” Banks told Al.com. “I think I can cover Megatron.”
Banks may need to improve his speed if he hopes to take down Johnson. The Lions wide receiver ran a 4.35 40-yard dash coming out of Georgia Tech in 2007. Banks is known for his physical play on the outside, but Johnson is a mismatch for any defensive back. Banks stands at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, while Johnson is listed at 6-foot-5, 236 pounds.
