The diamond grudge match between Clemson and North Carolina goes back all the way to 1901, so when the Tigers take on the Tar Heels in a three-game series this weekend, it’s not just another college baseball game.
North Carolina heads into the matchup as the top-ranked team in the country, owning a 23-1 record overall and a 7-1 mark in the ACC. They also have a seven-game winning streak against Clemson, their longest in the history of the rivalry. Clemson, meanwhile, is led by catcher Garrett Boulware, who’s hitting a team-leading .358 this season.
