The Bruins announced on Thursday that Boston and Pittsburgh will auction off game-worn jerseys that feature special “Boston Strong” patches to help support those affected by the Boston Marathon tragedy.
The Bruins’ uniforms will include a blue and yellow ribbon patch that reads “Boston Strong,” while Pittsburgh will don a “617” patch on its sweaters. All proceeds from the auctions will go to The One Fund Boston. The Bruins will also sell “Boston Strong” T-shirts in the Bruins Pro Shop beginning Friday and raffle off other select sweaters.
Raffle tickets can be purchased online for $5 each at www.nhlalumniraffles.org. Following Friday night’s game with Pittsburgh, one fan will receive game-worn jerseys from both Jaromir Jagr and Evgeni Malkin.
Puck drops at 7 p.m. at TD Garden on Friday night.
