Celtics Will Provide $200,000 for Marathon Victims, Wear ‘Boston Stands As One’ Warm-ups in Game One

The Boston Celtics have put together multiple initiatives to assist victims affected by the recent tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

The Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation has committed to raise $200,000 to support The One Fund Boston that will provide for the affected families in the Boston Marathon tragedy through a $100,000 pledge from the Shamrock Foundation, as well as multiple team initiatives to raise an additional $100,000.

“Our Celtics family and our fans join all Bostonians in demonstrating  our city’s great strength by coming together to stand as one to get through this difficult time,” Shamrock Foundation president Stephen Pagliuca said. “We are proud of all the heroic efforts that were made during this horrible tragedy and would like to show our support to those victimized by this terrible act.”

The Celtics partnered with Adidas to create a special Celtics limited edition t-shirt with the words “Boston Stands as One.” The proceeds from the shirts will include a 100 percent donation to The One Fund Boston. They will be worn by the Celtics during pregame warmups before they take on the Knicks in Game 1 of their playoff series in New York. These limited edition t-shirts can be purchased at NBAStore.com, Celticsstore.com, adidas.com and the Pro Shop in TD Garden.

The team is providing season ticket holders of the cancelled April 16 game against the Indiana Pacers an opportunity to donate their refund for that game to the One Fund, and the Shamrock Foundation will donate all 50-50 in-game raffle proceeds during home playoff games to the One Fund.
