Patrice Bergeron Works Out Again, Peter Chiarelli Encouraged by Progress

The Bruins will struggle to do much of anything in the playoffs with Patrice Bergeron, and after the center suffered his fourth concussion last week against Ottawa, there was fear that the B’s could be without Bergeron for some time.

However, it sounds like the reigning Selke winner continues to progress in his comeback attempts, and he’s already hit a couple of milestones on the road to getting back to playing.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said Wednesday morning that Bergeron has returned to working out, and his return efforts are coming along nicely.

“I’ve met with Patrice. He’s been working out. He’s on his road to recovery, so it looks good,” Chiarelli said Wednesday morning on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

The Boston Globe reported Wednesday that Bergeron has returned to the ice and did some skating in Boston.

”Any time a guy starts to do something, it’s a step in the right direction.,” Boston head coach Claude Julien said, according to The Boston Globe’s Kevin Paul-Dupont.
