Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck is considering filing an application to host the All-Star game after a conversation with Jim Rooney, the executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, Grousbeck told The Boston Globe.
“I spoke to Jim Rooney casually the other day about it,” Grousbeck told the Globe’s Gary Washburn. “And we’ve agreed it’s something worth looking at.”
There has been concern that the NBA would not award the game to a cold-weather city, Washburn reports, but both Brooklyn and New York are in the running to host the 2015 game. Philadelphia was the last Northeast city to host the game, in 2002.
