A number of Red Sox hitters put up impressive numbers during a four-game sweep of the Astros last week, but none had a better night than David Ross did in the second game of the series.

After not tallying more than one hit in any of his first eight starts this season, the catcher teed off on Houston’s Eric Bedard, going 4-for-4 with a pair of homers and three runs scored in a 7-3 Boston win. Ross returns to the lineup Wednesday night in Toronto as the Sox look to shake of a disappointing 9-7 loss in Tuesday’s series opener.

Jonny Gomes, who homered as a pinch hitter Tuesday night, will also get the start against the Jays, playing left field and batting second against left-hander Mark Buehrle.
