James Reimer’s Family Exhibits Stress of Overtime Playoff Hockey (Animation)

Sudden-death overtime is nerve-wracking enough if you’re a hockey fan, but that stress is multiplied tenfold if one of your family members is on the ice. And if that family member is the goalie? Forget about it.

That was evident on the faces of Maple Leafs netminder James Reimer‘s family, who could hardly bear to watch as Reimer’s Leafs fell to the Bruins 4-3 in the extra session in Game 4.

Check out their reaction in the animation below, with a stick tap to CBS’ Eye on Hockey blog.

Reimer’s wife, April, also shared what seemed to be a bit of an awkward moment with Elisha Cuthbert after the final horn sounded. The actress is engaged to Toronto defenseman Dion Phaneuf, whose error in the Bruins zone led to David Krejci‘s game-winner.

There seemed to be a little tension there, but April Reimer assured the Twitter-sphere after the game that was not the case.
