Contrary to popular belief, it turns out LeBron James can be fined for flopping after all.
James drew the Heat’s first flopping reprimand of the season on Friday when he and two Pacers players were each fined $5,000 for flopping in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday. David West and Lance Stephenson also received fines for embellishing contact during Indiana’s 99-92 win.
James and West were fined for the same incident, when both flopped simultaneously on the same play, to hilarious result. Stephenson was fined for pretending Ray Allen hit him in the face with a raised elbow that never came close to connecting.
As mentioned, no other Heat player has been fined for flopping this season. The next offense for James will draw a $10,000 fine.
