Mike Piazza Makes Stage Debut Playing Gangster With Miami City Ballet (Photo)

The Mets’ Queens home is a long way from Broadway, but, on Friday, Mike Piazza looked pretty natural under the bright lights of the theater, according to The Miami Herald.

Piazza made his stage debut with the Miami City Ballet, playing a brief role during a production of Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. Piazza’s daughter is a member of the ballet’s academy.

The Ziff Ballet Opera House/Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts was decked out in red for the performance, and the dancers “moved with aggressive sensuality,” reports The Herald. Piazza wore houndstooth, and played a jealous gangster who pulls a gun on a romantic rival, a tap dancer, before being arrested.

Even actor Christian Slater was in attendance, according to the report. Check out an image of Piazza in his stage attire below.
