Robert Griffin III Buys $2.1 Million House That Includes Elevator, Wine Cellar (Photos)

Robert Griffin III was already showered with gifts from his fans when his wedding registry was found at Bed Bath & Beyond. However, even the most generous of Washington bleacher creatures did not shell out the dough for the quarterback’s latest purchase — a new home.

The Redskins phenom paid $2.1 million for his Virginia home that includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms and enough kitchen counter space for his offensive line to feast for the remainder of the offseason.

All of that, while nice enough, is far too average to make this house stand out. Throw in an all-stone wine cellar and an elevator — yes, an elevator — and it sounds more suited for the 2011 Heisman winner.

The house is among others in a gated community that includes a golf course, tennis courts, a fitness center and a clubhouse. These features should be more than enough to ease the emotional strife of Griffin’s knee surgery rehabilitation. In fact, his teammates may need to drag him back onto the field.
