Report: Yankees Had Picture of Gregory Campbell in Draft Room as Example of What to Look for in Players

Gregory Campbell‘s legendary shift against the Pittsburgh Penguins is transcending hockey — and the Boston-New York rivalry, it appears.

With the Major League Baseball draft taking place over the weekend, it was the Yankees of all teams who looked to the Bruins forward for inspiration in choosing their players. According to a tweet from Peter Gammons, the Bronx Bombers displayed a picture of Campbell in their war room as an example of what they want in a player’s personality.

While Boston fans might be a little bummed that Soupy could have helped make the Yankees better, it’s hard not to look back on Campbell’s effort with pride regardless.
