Yasiel Puig Makes Diving Catch, Almost Collides With Andre Ethier (Video)

Yasiel Puig has been a mainstay in the media headlines since getting called up to join the Dodgers in Los Angeles — the kid can flat-out do it all.

The Cuban phenom has dazzled with his rocket arm and clutch hitting — posting a .425 batting average with six homers and 12 RBIs in 19 games — but also proved he can make plays with his glove on Sunday against the Padres.

Padres shortstop Pedro Ciriaco flared a fly ball to right-center field and it appeared as if center fielder Andre Ethier was prepared to make the routine grab, but in came Puig to make the diving catch. Typically, the center fielder captains the outfield and hauls in anything within range, so Puig and Ethier need to work on their communication before any more potentially injury-causing collisions. While the 22-year-old Puig has proven he has a great deal of talent, plays like this one show that his talent is still raw.
