Bryce Harper Homers in First At-Bat Since Returning From Disabled List (Video)

Bryce Harper is back in action after spending more than a month on the disabled list, and the young slugger didn’t wait long to make his presence known.

Harper, who missed 31 games with left-knee bursitis suffered from running into the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium back in May, homered in his first at-bat Monday, sending the second pitch he saw from Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo into the bullpen.

It was the 35th career home run for the 21-year-old, whom the Nationals — a trendy World Series pick prior to the season — hope will help kick-start their woeful offense. Washington entered Monday ranked 28th in the majors in both runs and team batting average.
