The Alex Rodriguez sideshow may finally be overshadowed Sunday as the New York Yankees get their shortstop back.
Derek Jeter is officially back in the lineup after battling injury all season. Jeter has played in one game this season after rehabbing from a broken ankle sustained last season, but he was placed back on the 15-day disabled list when he aggravated a hamstring.
The shortstop last played for the Yankees on July 11 before serving his stint on the DL. Rodriguez and Jeter were slated to return to the team around the same time, but after Rodriguez’s constant injury and off-the-field drama, Jeter beat the third baseman to it.
