Lakers Deploy Mobile Billboards on Major Highways Begging Dwight Howard to Stay in Los Angeles (Photo)

The Lakers have gone mobile with their plea for free agent Dwight Howard to make his stay in Los Angeles permanent.

First, the Lakers posted billboards on the Staples Center with the message, then they had actor Jack Nicholson call Howard, and now they’ve put the message on mobile billboards on Interstate 405 in Los Angeles. The billboards have a photo of Howard in his Lakers uniform next to the word “STAY.”

It’s unclear how these billboards would actually factor into Howard’s decision —  maybe the Lakers are just hoping that the act shows their dedication to him. In any case, the Lakers’ desperation is reaching new levels.

Howard is on the free-agent market after one season in Los Angeles.
