Report: Biogenesis Whistleblower Porter Fischer Withholding Records From MLB for $1 Million

So, Porter Fischer is now the Edward Snowden of baseball, right?

On Tuesday, it emerged that former Biogenesis employee Fischer was set to meet with Major League Baseball and provide the league’s investigators with the “smoking gun” linking players to PED purchases. However, according to a new report, Fischer’s relationship with baseball is more like a hostage situation.

Fischer did indeed meet with MLB on Tuesday and subsequently asked the league for $1 million, according to TMZ, which cited Fischer’s lawyer. In exchange, Fischer agreed to give them documents that would tie players like Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun, among others, to steroids.

MLB has yet to make an official offer to Fischer, according to the report. The two sides are said to be meeting again in the near future, however, no dollar figures have been negotiated yet.
