The Aaron Hernandez case just keeps getting sadder.
The former tight end’s uncle, Robert Valentine, died in a moped crash on Saturday morning, according to Bristol, Conn., police. He’s the second relative of Hernandez to die in a motor vehicle accident since the former Patriot was arrested in connection to the murder of Odin Lloyd.
Valentine was riding a 2012 Sunny moped when it hit a curb. Valentine was thrown from the moped and landed on a curb on a private driveway. He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Valentine was the brother of Terri Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez’s mother.
Thaddeus Singleton III, another Hernandez relative, was killed in June when his car crashed into Farmington Country Club. He was driving in the rain at 100 mph. Police were hoping to speak to Singleton about the Lloyd case before he was killed.
