Felix Doubront is back to his dominating ways.
After a pair of spotty starts in August, the left-hander was lights-out against the Giants on Aug. 21, twirling an eight-inning gem. Doubront followed that start in San Francisco with another stellar performance against the Orioles on Monday night in the series opener.
The O’s only threat came in the second inning, when Doubront allowed the first four batters to reach base. After walking in a run, the southpaw was able to escape the bases-loaded, no-out situation with minimal damage, allowing only two runs to score overall.
Doubront cruised to a 13-2 victory to open the nine-game homestand for the Sox. He threw 6 2/3 strong innings, surrendering only the two runs on the night and striking out seven.
