Senior Zach Mettenberger will fulfill the three credit hours he needs to earn a degree in General Studies by taking just one course this fall — an online one, at that.
Mettenberger is understandably “stoked” about his schedule, and he walked USA Today reporter Glenn Guilbeau through his typical routine.
“I woke up about eight, ran some errands, went to Dunkin’ Donuts, came over here [to the football facility], watched some film with my coffee,” Mettenberger said. “About 11, I went to lunch, came back and watched film until practice. It’s just like if I was a coach or in the [NFL]. I’m up here doing my homework, which is football pretty much.”
Sounds like the life.
The signal caller won’t have to worry about the burden of schoolwork, but he will have to be wary about spending too much time at LSU’s practice facility. That’s right, the NCAA mandates that student-athletes can spend no more than 20 hours per week working on their respective sports.
If Mettenberger needs help managing his free time, he can take some tips from Bills quarterback Matt Leinart, whose senior-year schedule at USC consisted solely of ballroom dancing.
