Report: Ryan Braun Ready to Admit to PED Use, Apologize to Teammates, Fans

Ryan Braun is ready to come clean.

Braun’s friends reportedly told USA Today on Thursday that the suspended Brewers slugger plans to admit to having used performance-enhancing drugs during the 2011 season and explain the reasons why he did so.

Braun will also reportedly apologize to everyone he has wronged throughout the process including his fellow players, his fans, Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig and sample collector Dino Laurenzi Jr., whom Braun publicly shamed after a dispute over his 2011 testosterone test.

Since accepting a 65-game suspension on July 22 for his role in the Biogenesis scandal, Braun has largely stayed out of the spotlight. He returned to the news pages Friday, though, when 60 Minutes reported that Alex Rodriguez had leaked the documents that liked Braun to Anthony Bosch and the Biogenesis clinic.

Braun’s suspension will keep him out for the remainder of this season.
