Umpire Nails Astros Pitcher Brad Peacock With Throw Back to Mound (Video)

Welcome to today’s edition of “Only the Astros.”

A month after a distracted Jarred Cosart took a ball off the face from his own catcher, Houston found another one of its pitchers caught in the line of fire. This time, it was the umpire supplying the embarrassment, as a toss back to the mound by home plate ump Paul Schrieber on Friday smacked Astros starter Brad Peacock right in the chest.

The mishap did little to distract the 25-year-old Peacock, though, as the rookie worked 6 1/3 strong innings in an 8-2 win over the Angels.
