Carl Yastrzemski is joining some of the Red Sox’ greatest players behind Gate B later this month.

The club has announced that the outfielder will be honored with a statue of his own, joining Ted Williams and others immortalized outside the park.

Yastrzemski’s statue has been a long time coming, and it begs the question of which other Boston greats still don’t have a life-size recreation. Bill Russell is only finally getting his statue, at City Hall Plaza, after years of clamoring.

When taking a sweep back through Boston history to figure out who should get a statue next, some current sports figures also get attention. Tom Brady may still be going strong, but he’ll probably have a bronze counterpart someday. How the likes of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen stand up to history is also open for debate.

Take a look at which players are in line for statue glory.
