Matthew SlaterFOXBORO, Mass. — It’s a good thing Bill Belichick values special teams so much that nearly every player on the roster can participate on kickoffs and punts.

Two of the team’s best special teamers were missing from practice Wednesday. Matthew Slater, who reportedly has a broken wrist, and Marquice Cole were the only players on the 53-man roster not at practice.

On Monday, Aqib Talib and Alfonzo Dennard missed practice. Both players were present Wednesday. Danny Amendola was also on the practice fields despite looking gimpy with his injured groin.

Amendola participated in all drills the media was present for, but he looked significantly slowed down. He was a step slower while running through his routes, and he wasn’t able to cut nearly as well as usual. It wouldn’t be surprising if Amendola was just out on the field while the media was present as a smokescreen. It would be shocking if the receiver played Sunday against the Buccaneers based on how he’s looking.
