A couple of sports stars have already lent their John Hancock to an organization putting on an event in Sterling Heights, Mich., aimed at “kicking cancer with style.” Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera and Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk each signed a fancy, decorated bra to be used at the BRAvo event, which features dinner, raffles, live and silent auctions of the celebrity-signed items and an award presentation for the winners of a bra-decorating challenge, according to The Daily Tribune.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go toward the BRAvo For Women free mammogram program for uninsured women in Macomb County, and the rest will go to the McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation’s breast cancer center.
“The money stays here in the community,” said Pat Keigher, director of the McLaren Macomb Breast Cancer Center and the Ted B. Wahby Cancer Center. “Proceeds all go to serving patients.”
Other celebrities who donated signed items include Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert.
