Patriots Re-Sign Marquice Cole, Release Rookie Offensive Lineman Josh Kline

FOXBORO, Mass. — Marquice Cole wasn’t gone for long.

The Patriots re-signed the veteran cornerback on Monday afternoon after releasing him on Sunday. To make room for Cole, New England released undrafted rookie offensive lineman Josh Kline.

The Patriots signed Cole to a one-year deal in March after the seventh-year veteran spent last season with New England. Cole played 14 games with the Patriots last season, starting one game. He had one interception and three deflected passes.

The Patriots had just four cornerbacks on the roster prior to re-signing Cole. The Northwestern product also worked at safety in the team’s last preseason game.
