Philadelphia Daily News Credits Story to Wrong Writer, Gets Corrected by Reporter on Twitter

Les Bowen is one heck of a reporter, and his tweets are both informative and refreshingly tongue-in-cheek at times. But he’s not about to take credit where it isn’t due.

Bowen, the Eagles beat reporter for the Philadelphia Daily News, clearly was surprised to see the Twitter account for Philly.com’s sports section send out a link to one of his stories on Friday. It wasn’t that Bowen didn’t like the praise. It’s just that, well, the story in question wasn’t his.

Bowen tweeted a correction right back, which led to this funny combination of tweets (screen shot below in case the tweets get deleted):

The tweet linked to a story headlined “Eagles still trying to find the right — healthy — mix in rushing attack” by Daily News columnist Sam Donnellon. Bowen’s actual story was indeed on Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, but it wasn’t the story linked to in the tweet.

These things happen, obviously. It’s just more amusing when they play out where anyone can see them, 140 characters at a time.
