Ryan SpoonerBruins coach Claude Julien wasn’t very happy with his team following their loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night, and the team may be sending a message with a subsequent roster move.

The club recalled center Ryan Spooner on Thursday morning in advance of its game with the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday at TD Garden. It’s unclear whether or not Spooner will be inserted into the lineup, but he is eligible to play Thursday night against Anaheim.

The 21-year-old was the leading scorer at Providence last year, as he led the P-Bruins with 17 goals and 40 assists. He’s second on the Baby B’s in points this year with 2-5-7 totals in eight games.

Spooner made his NHL debut last season and played in four games with the big club. He made a push for one of the final roster spots with a tremendous training camp this season, but the team’s depth down the middle left him on the outside looking in.
