Capitals’ Mike Green Designs Awesome NHL ’94-Inspired T-Shirt (Photo)

NHL ’94 never goes out of style.

Capitals high-scoring blueliner Mike Green earned the nickname “Game Over Green” during the 2007-08 season for his frequent and timely late-game heroics. Fans made their own custom jerseys with the nickname to wear at Caps home games, but the ever-fashionable Green has a better option.

Green launched his own clothing line over the offseason, and included among the T-shirt offerings is a fantastic NHL ’94-inspired design. The front features Green as an SNES avatar complete with a star highlight, and the back takes full advantage of the video game to reference Green’s nickname among Caps fans.

While Green isn’t the juggernaut Jeremy Roenick was in NHL ’94, wearing this T-shirt just might make you feel as unstoppable.

It’s a shame this design isn’t as universal as player tees or jerseys — ’90s kids would buy them in truckloads.

Check out the photos of the shirt below.
