Logan Ryan Apologizes to Fans, Viewers Who Saw His Fined Crotch-Grab Touchdown Dive

FOXBORO, Mass. — It didn’t take long for Logan Ryan to publicly apologize for his crotch-grab touchdown dive from Sunday.

The usually mild-mannered cornerback was reportedly fined $10,000 for the celebration. Ryan took an interception back 79 yards for a touchdown against the Jets. As he was crossing the goal line, he dove, grabbing his crotch.

“First off, I just want to apologize to all the fans and all the viewers that witnessed that,” Ryan said. “I own up to it 100 percent. It’s not acceptable. It’s not acceptable for me and this team. And I want to put it behind me and I want to move on and focus on Miami. Just let people know it won’t happen again and that’s not who I am.”

It was the first interception and touchdown of the rookie’s NFL career. The Rutgers product found himself in a starting role as Aqib Talib missed the game with a hip injury. Ryan received additional snaps when Kyle Arrington was sidelined midway through the second quarter for undisclosed reasons, though he did not pop up on the injury report.
